Creating a truly good product requires more than design alone—it depends on the quality of every process carried out at each factory. At yinyang, we value our relationships with all those involved in making a single garment, including sewing, dyeing, printing, and embroidery factories, as well as fabric suppliers and hardware makers.
Through close communication with artisans, we take the time to understand who is involved in each step, and in what places and environments our products are made. This mutual understanding allows us to approach every process with care and intention.
Our products are currently manufactured in Indonesia, Japan, and China. We work with respect for each country’s culture, religion, lifestyle, and natural rhythm, valuing balance and mutual understanding.
All negotiations with our production partners are conducted based on fair and transparent trade. By maintaining long-term relationships at appropriate prices, we aim to support the well-being—both physical and mental—and sustainable livelihoods of those who make our products.
Through ongoing communication with our production partners, we continue to learn how important it is to understand the full journey of a product—from creation to completion—in building a more sustainable society.
Indonesia Bali
Approximately 70% of yinyang’s products are manufactured in Bali, Indonesia. Since 2012, we have been working with the same factories, building long-term relationships based on trust.
A local production manager, together with a small team of local staff, oversees every step of the process—from fabric selection and plant-based dyeing to sewing and final inspection.
Many of our partner factories operate as family-run workshops. As a result, our production managers develop close relationships with the families involved, getting to know everyone personally. By understanding each other’s rhythms and circumstances, and through attentive communication, we are able to move forward carefully and reliably at every stage of production.
China Taian
China is home to many apparel factories, and our production partners are located in Shandong and Jiangsu provinces. We work through trusted OEM partners who collaborate with manufacturing facilities they have built long-standing relationships with.
Focusing primarily on natural materials such as hemp and organic cotton, we actively explore new materials and techniques, including knitwear, to create products that reflect both innovation and craftsmanship.
